When SONIC approached Maverick Studios with a vision for the launch of their new Unicorn Dream Slush, the goal was clear: this is more than another drink reveal. They wanted a culinary experience that transports fans into a world of whimsy, joy and wonder—one that is impossible to ignore across social platforms.
Working closely with SONIC and their PR partners, Maverick set out to bring that fantasy to tangible reality and highly shareable content through vibrant visuals and thoughtful craftmanship. Production took place at The Content Kitchen, where the team designed and built a custom floral set entirely by hand. Oversized blooms, bold colors, and layered textures formed a dreamlike environment that invited viewers in from the very first frame. Capturing the magic on camera came with its challenges. The iconic Unicorn Horn Straw, with its glossy, iridescent finish, reflected light unpredictably and required careful adjustments to achieve the right balance of shine and clarity. Tight timelines added pressure, calling for real-time collaboration and quick refinements to ensure every frame felt intentional and polished.
Post-production extended the experience even further. Playful motion, animated sparkles, and tailored edits helped the content come alive across short-form videos and still imagery, inviting fans to feel enchanted with every sip as the limited-time Slush rolled out to SONIC locations nationwide.
The result was a standout win for Maverick Studios—showcasing the team’s ability to explore and excel in uncharted creative territories and setting a new benchmark for what playful storytelling can look like, while earning well-deserved industry recognition along the way.
