Maverick Studios Creates BWW International Spots for 2022 FIFA World Cup

For the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Buffalo Wild Wings came to Maverick with a unique challenge: create TV Spots from around the world, all from one studio. Maverick was tasked with telling the story of BWW’s sports bar brand presence and legendary experience in a global setting where camaraderie and fandom transcends borders and cultures. The goal of the content was to drive consideration and trial for off-premise ordering and order ahead for people watching the 2022 FIFA World Cup, through evergreen video assets, lifestyle photography, and merchandising materials that can be leveraged across OLV, Social, OOH, merchandising, menu boards, and more.

Maverick employed XR technology to shoot in different locations/countries/homes, all from the same studio. This complicated ask came with many challenges: new technology, lots of content, speed to market, food prep, logistics of producing, and complying with international standards. Maverick had to create that familiar BWW sports bar feel from Mexico, India and the UAE.

After months of hard work, Maverick pulled through with flying colors. This was a big win for the team for running the spectrum of concepting to execution with cutting-edge XR technology for the first time. Altogether, the team shot over one hour of video footage and over 600 lifestyle images, telling the global BWW’s brand story across millions of screens during the World Cup.

Maverick welcomed this new era of production and videography with open arms and brought what it means to be a Maverick to the project: collaboration, new thinking, more content, less time and a more efficient budget.
